Crass Gas

Isn't it interesting how the gas companies no longer have to use the "gas shortage" scare tactic of the 70's and 80's to raise their gas prices? Now they have the war and economic shifts as excuses and we seem to be buying it.

Samantha, what are you going to do, not buy gas in protest? The Bush camp has the American Public between a Rock and a Hard Place. We have to get about our cities, towns and most of all shopping centers. We have to eat and seeing very few of us grow our own food, we end up paying higher prices at Mc Nansty’s, Burger Thing, Taco Hell, Hell Taco and Junk in the Box due to transportation cost. Bottom line for a lack of better expressions, we’re fucked. Seeing that, we all may as well lay back and enjoy it.

As to buying all this happy horse crap, I think the public is starting to wake up to the Republican Christian Right’s lies. That’s why there is a growing voice asking, why we are at war with a country that didn’t and never did have the military might to be a threat to the good old U.S of A. However, you have people across the country who will buy anything without question.

In addition, here is another lie they fed to the American People. They want to call this conflict a WAR, it is not, it is just that, a conflict. Only Congress can declare war and the U.S. Congress did not declare war on Iraq or Saddam. The last time Congress declared war was in 1941 after the Empire of Japan attacked our Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor. Hey, but a ton of you guys don’t know that, so they play up on your ignorance and have you thinking the nation is at war.

There is a theory, and it is just hear say for now going about, Bush and his crew at the behest of the Saudi Royal Family, got us into this conflict to keep Iraqi oil off the market, in turn allowing the Royal Family to jack up their price per barrel. Once the sanctions were lifted off Iraq, Saddam planned to sell Iraqi oil to Europe. That in turn meant Europe and even the U.S. would not need as much Saudi oil thus keeping their prices in check. Hey, it’s just hear say, but boy, I would love to find a paper trail if there is one.

Scorpius--

In real dollars, gas is still cheaper than it was in the '70s and there aren't any gas lines. Plus, on average, cars get better gas mileage now than they did in the '70s.

In that, I will agree...

Scorpius--

Just for amusement, I like to go into a Walmart and engage employees in a discussion of how gas higher prices are Walmart's fault, cos of the booming Chinese economy, what with Walmart buying so much of its fare from China... gotta love that slave labor thing.

Fun watching the conflict: customer=gotta be nice to 'em vs. this annoying SOB is bitchin' about WallyWorld...

The lil things we do for fun.
