No, No Limits!
I would like to see the streets Audobon-ed. Or, at least, the highways. That is, let me choose the speed I want to drive.
I know many people would disagree with that, especially those who desire to go well under the posted speed. And those slow drivers, whom I refer to as retardius drivers speedminimus, would probably end up crawling like turtles if they didn't even have to drive the posted speed.
Those poor turtles, always getting a bad rap.
The reason I'd like to be able to go my own speed is primarily selfish - I'd like to get where I'm going! With all the drivers out there trying to drive the posted limit, we tend to bunch up at lights and get slow starts on the green light, and have traffic piling up in areas that if we were all going a little faster probably wouldn't happen. We'd have some people getting through lights and others lagging behind, but at least we wouldn't be caught in a deadlock. At least it's a theory, and one I'd like put into practise.

Oh sounds great to me! I like to stretch that Fury out from time to time. I hit 90 the other day on Interstate 10 between here and Houston and scared myself- LOL.

I feel of similar mind. Instead of specific speed-limits I'd prefer fines for dangerous driving. In other words, drive as fast as circumstances, and your own ability and vehicle, permit. If you drive recklessly you get charged. It makes a kind of sense.
I've often though the current Queensland police slogan of "Every k over is a killer" is complete and utter idiocy. So driving 61 in a 60 zone is deadly, but 99 in a 100 zone is not?
Hitting somebody legally at 99 is more deadly than hitting them illegally at 61.
I guess they're trying to accomodate for road conditions, but their judgement of what speed is best for any particular location is as bunk as their slogan. I'm so mad thinking about it I'm going to post about it on my blog.. Aargh!
