The Crazy Rants of Samantha Burns

The ctv.ca brings us news that the Canadian border offices in Ontario walked off the job on Wednesday as a result of being unequipped to deal with an "armed and dangerous" fugitive from the US who was considered to be heading for the border.

The border patrol exercised their ability to "refuse to work if they feel their lives are threatened" after they saw the gun-toting police who were stationed at the border. The supposed goal was to let the fugitive into the country where the police were set up to ambush the criminal.

I don't blame the customs officers. Why are they supposed to be used as sitting ducks in this game? How are they to even defend themselves if they don't have weapons?

It's been mentioned that this is the fourth time the border has been closed as a result of having unarmed guards.

After all that has happened with fugitives at the borders and bomb-carrying losers, why hasn't the government thought to arm the people who are protecting our country from lunatics? Our military is one to laugh at, and now our border is becoming that way to.

I feel so gosh darn safe here some days, you know.
