Quack, quack, quack
A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why.
It's quackers!
Does this mean that if you put a duck near a canyon and make it quack, you'll only hear the original quack and not the echo off the canyon walls? Okay, where'm I going to get a duck to test out this theory? I just gotta know for myself.
The Crazy Rants of Samantha Burns

A couple of years ago Mythbusters (Discovery Channel) addressed this and put it to the test.
Seems the quack's echo resembles the original in such a way as to be almost indistinguishable when heard and recorded. They used special (read expensive) equipement to check out the wavelengths in order to bust the myth. Still, it's interesting.

HA! Expensive equipment just to determine if a duck's quack echos.
Which is more ridiculous: how the person who first exposed this theory came across this finding or the people who wasted money to learn if this theory holds?
I could find a lot more to do with that time and money. I'd rather just take a duck to the grand canyon and make it quack, lol.

Hmmmm... I didn't get that "fact" recently. I got it a long time ago, so weird. But, man, people put a lot of work into monotonous information, lol. I mean, did you see how long that write up was on it? And, to spend a lot of money on researching it. Too funny.

Two Irish ducks on a tandem, first duck goes quack, second duck says "I'm going as quack as I can"

Actually, the phenomenon is not unique to ducks. If a turtle or moose were to quack at the edge of a canyon, its echo would likewise be unidentifiable.
