Stale Stallone Or Resilient Rambo?
Sylvester Stallone is planning on making Rambo IV.
The 59 year old Stallone will make the new flick after he has completed Rocky 6.
The script for the movie has yet to be written, but will likely be about John Rambo as a reclusive Vietnam Vet who returns to his fighting ways after a young girl is kidnapped (oh, how original).
As if Rocky VI wasn't enough, aging Stallone has to go for more with another Rambo. It seems fitting that it will be Rambo IV, however, because the man's going to need an IV - interveinous treatment to get him through the making of the movie.
And, it's not going to be like the first one, Rambo: First Blood. It's going to be more like Rambo: Dried out old coot's blood.
Will Rambo 4 help make the last 3 movies surpass the $614 million gross that the first three movies made? Not likely, unless people want to see if he can cut it in action at his age.
In case you haven't gathered from my sarcasm, I think that Rambo's a relic and needs to retire to a rest home.

I agree. I won't be seeing either one.

Not So Diane! If Stallone can pull it off, more power to him. If aging rockers can keep going on tour and packing the stadiums, why not an aging action figure? With the magic of "Industrial Light and Magic" I think Hollywierd can do anything.

Diane=Sam
Not in reference to that stupid sitcom Cheers. Please help my brain.

Big Daddy - good observation on the Cheers thing. I didn't see that myself. I guess Diane and I will have to start butting heads now like they did on that show, lol.
As for the similarity between action characters and aging rockers, I'm not much of a supporter of aging rockers either. Although AC/DC is one of my favourites, I believe they should retire some day soon before it gets embarrassing. I don't want to be there to see them pull an aged tour like the rolling stones did.
You gotta know when to quit, people.

I can only hope that one day I shall equal the wit and humor of Sam :)

Aw, thanks Diane, but I think you already do, if not, you surpass it.

I posted a few weeks ago how it reminded me of the Wierd AL song, "Theme to Rocky XIII"

an excerpt:
Fat and weak, what a disgrace.
Guess the champ got too lazy.
Ain't gonna fly now, he's just takin' up space.
Sold his gloves, threw his eggs down the drain.
But he's no bum, he works down the street.
He bought the neighborhood deli.
Back on his feet, now he's choppin' up meat.
Come inside, maybe you'll hear him say:
Try the rye or the kaiser,
They're on special tonight.
If you want, you can have an appetizer.
You might like our salami, and the liver's all right.
And they'd really go well with the rye,
Or the kaiser.

S.S. is an amazing man and he can def. pull this off. I have been his fan since the beginning and deserves lifetime achievement recognition. Acting, writing, directing, a magazine, fitness products! Go Sly!

Give the guy a break! I don't think he gets enough credit. There are alot of Stallone fans ought there who dying to see the tru action hero return to thebig screen. He is still in good shape at his age and is a true inspiration to others ... so just lay off ... if you don't like his movies don't watch them!
