Why A North American Patriot Should Win
After reading Who's counting these votes, anyway?! from A North American Patriot where she quotes:
Who of you stinking infidels hasn't been voting for Sam?! She's in fourth place...and she should be kicking my sorry ass.
I simply must point out why A North American Patriot is the true winner by far of the Best Canadian Blog in the The Weblog Awards.
I decided to do some statistical analysis of the votes and the results were staggering. I took the number of votes averaged and the number of visitors per day on each site and translated that into a vote/visitor ratio. For the mathematically challenged, a bigger percentage is a better number to have.
A whooping 14.2% of visitors to A North American Patriot site go and vote for her. The next runner up Peace, order and good government, eh? has an impressive 8.6% but pales compared to the double digit percentage of A North American Patriot. Coming in a distant third is Sam with 4.9% even though she has hired an enforcer to ensure voting compliance when visiting her site.
What does this all mean? Well A North American Patriot deserves top honours for the loyalty her readership shows. I will give a humble bow to her. Further, that means a lot of you readers on Sam's site can expect a visit from Butch.
I have included the results below. Keep in mind, not everyone promotes The Weblog Awards equally, so that does mean the results are skewed even further than my poor math skills would normally cause.
| Blog name | Total Votes | Avg. Visits/Day | Vote/Visit Ratio |
| A North American Patriot | 266 | 312 | 14.2% |

The Crazy Rants of Samantha Burns

Comments
Ok, so you're telling me that the 2 stinking beavers are only getting just over 2% of their readership voting, and they're STILL kicking my ass? Somehow I don't feel better.
Thanks Sam...Now I have to scarf down a whole quart of ice cream, to console myself.
Stinking beavers.

At least they have people commenting to their posts so you know they're being read. I've noticed in a few categories there are blogs winning because they're part of a group blog that points voters in their direction, rather than from people reading and commenting on the blog itself. Perhaps their writing is so awesome people are too awestruck to leave comments.
PS-
I've heard fried beaver tail is pretty tasty.

Dear Samantha,
I don't know what this award thing is about. But I noticed I was linked on your "random blogroll." This is the first time I've been randomly blogrolled. It was good for me. Thanks for being gentle. Here's my academic blog... if you're interested:

Slight error. I only have 34 votes, not 100+

James,
I don't know how that happened. Funny, you were in the correct sort position which means I sorted then somehow caused the error. Weird. Thanks for letting me know about the error.

ps: and he doesn't advertsise that he's been nominated. He's also a member of the Webby Awards Academy, maybe that's why. The Webby's are the read deal.
