Actual Town Names
Well, in the spirit of the holidays, I'd like to help brighten your day by making fun of others.
Here are some weird town names that exist out there.
I don't know what they're thinking when people create some of these names, but I like their style.
Some of my favourites:
Fingeringhoe (Essex, UK)
Dikshit (India)
Gofuku (Japan)
And, remind me not to visit Little Dix Village (West Indies)

Corner Gas gave away property in Climax Sask. and there's a Semans Sask. too. Sure not spelled right, but the thought counts.

The last element in Fingringhoe is common in English place-names, usually meaning something like "ridge", sometimes spelt hough. (According to Ekwall, The Concise Oxford Dictionary of English Place-names, a standard reference)
