Pamela Anderson Sucks Again
There are many reasons to dislike PETA, too many to list here, but I have further reason to dislike them today as I learned this new info by way of Miceland.
It appears Pamela Anderson is proving herself to be more tool than ever as she advocates to have a sculpture of Colonel Sanders removed from the Kentucky state capitol.
As you all know Anderson was considered a moron of the week last year, and I wouldn't doubt if she acquires that title again this year with all the unintelligent choices she makes in life.
Alas, PETA and Pamela's plot was denied by the state, which added,
"Harland Sanders is a beloved man, and as far as this state is concerned, he exemplifies the best of Kentucky. The governor has no intention of moving his statue. If we were going to move it, it would be to a more prominent position where more people could see it."HAH! Now there is an intelligent decision.
I love it.
A KFC spokesperson added that it was
"just another misguided publicity stunt by PETA in their attempt to create a vegan society."Yup, that pretty much sums it up for me.
Try as you might, but I'll eat human before I go vegan, lol. Well, maybe or maybe not, the jury's still out on the reality of that one, but rest assured, it'll be a cold day in PETA-h*ll before I switch over.

When I read the post title "Pamela Anderson Sucks Again," you had my attention. Then I figured out it was about something else.

Looks like I get to order some BBQ boneless wings from them again! Every time they go in the news - I get a craving for them. Thanks PETA and friends.

Mmmmm! Not only did I get a craving for chicken, but a big juicy steak, a pork roast, and a healthy feed of tuna! Thanks, Pamela!
Vegan is just crazy. We are omnivores for a reason. Why fight it? Eat FOOD, people!

I'm going to eat more meat now. Strange meats. Giraffe (hey, it's kosher), yak, baby cow, koala bear and maybe a chimpanzee.
I wonder what I'll have tomorrow.

Human beings frequently lack the ability to assess long term abstract risk and consequences. So when organizations like PETA advocate that it might be beneficial to reduce consumption of meat because of the it's effects on people and society, they are frequently met with confused stares. Here's an example, PETA points out that people who eat factory farmed meat have higher incidences of cancer. Most individuals presented with this information will simply respond that "everything causes cancer" rather than eating free range meat instead.
What I personally find baffling is people who can see pictures of factory farms or hot houses where chickens have their beaks burned off and not feel at least slightly ill at ease that they might somehow be contributing to such a nasty situation.
It's also worth noting that eating kfc or going vegan is probably a false dichotomy. It seems more an issue of how humans can eat what they want in a responsible, safe way. I would rather eat the occasional freerange steak than chow down on a mcdonalds burger filled with antibiotics.

What a spoksman, Pamela Anderson sure seems to like tube steak.
Groups like PETA scare me though as they seem to be edging closer to violence as the years go by.
I'll give up eating meat when the pry that drumstick out of my cold dead hand.

If all PETA was advocating was a reduction in the consumption of meat their comedic value would drop precipitously. They want every man, woman and post-natal clump of fetal tissue to be vegan. That is their stated goal so your false dichotomy is a false argument.
I generaly avoid McDonalds because the food is awful, but all the freerange steak I have ever had is tough and stringy (but did taste good).
PETA is not ridiculed because they "advocate that it might be beneficial to reduce consumption of meat because of the it's effects on people and society", they are ridiculed because they take a position that is so extreme that they become a caricature of themselves. They are currently whining over the of the University of South Carolina's choice of mascot (the Gamecocks). This is why I can't take this group seriously. Well that and their thinking that Pamela Anderson is a credible spokesperson for anything.

My (comedic) take on Pam's little anti-Colonel junket.

I wonder if this campaign will have an impact on the all-encompassing chicken slaughter?
