Toilet Seat Issue Rediscovered
You know, thinking of Difster's article and my related discussion, I have come to a thought that puts it in perspective for me.
The question of the time was
Why is it that men should have to put the toilet seat down for us women? Why can't women put the toilet seat UP for men?My epiphany, which, who knows, may already be out there, but I haven't heard it yet....
My epiphany is that the toilet seat issue is a MUST in a relationship. I mean, just as a relationship has its ups and downs, so does the toilet seat.

That's deep. My head is swimming; I think I'm feeling flush.

Suggestion to both men and women:
Always put the seat down. Who wants to walk into a bathroom and see the toilet lid open?
No one.
Make it a habit.

I used to leave it in whichever position I found it - however, as time progressed, and 'Er Indoors got me into the habit, I made sure I put it down. I agree with Butch now, it does look better - plus it hides any... well, "remnants" that might not have flushed away first time...

I always put the lid down because I figure something will get dropped in there otherwise, plus it just doesnt look right otherwise.

How do you stand on the stains left behind in the bowl after a good curry?

peemil - ew, lol. Heh heh, I don't stand on them, I hover over them.

I believe that to resolve this age old debate, one must understand both sides. For women, the bathroom is about comfort, therefore, they perfer the toilet seat down. For us guys, it's about speed, so we like it up (aids in the process of getting in and out quickly). Generally I abide by this rule and leave it down at a lady's house and up at a guys.

C'mon - leave the seat UP. Howelse is the dog going to drink?
/doesn't anyone ever think about the dogs?

Leave it down. I (male) prefer to take a load off while taking a load off, and sit.
1. It gives me time to slow down and think things over while nature takes place.
2. It gives me an excuse to unbuckle my belt, tuck my shirt in and straighten my clothing up.
3. Makes my wife giggle. A happy wife is a happy marrage.

I have virtually no depth perception.
Therefore, I have really bad aim.
Ergo, I sit, lest I pee on the wall next to the toilet.
Thus, it's really not an issue for me.
