Sheehan: A Mother Profiting Off The Death Of Her Son
...is now profiting off Canadians at a tune of $20 a head while on a four city rampage tour through the country - all in the name of her made up organisation Gold Fish, I mean Gold Star Families.
Great, first we have the blimptacular loud mouth, Michael Moore speaking for us, then Mr. Al "make up the facts" Gore, and now we have *shudder* Sheehan.
Thanks, but no thanks to the lot of you.
While talking to Canadians, Sheehan made claims about the war like,
"It's never about spreading freedom or democracy or making the world safe, it's about lining the war profiteers' pockets."Takes a profiteer to know a profiteer, I guess.
Okay, first off, as if a war is a cost effective procedure, numbnuts. How many billions have already been spent on this war? Sure, profiting.
Uh huh.
There's a reason Sheehan won the MOTY last year, and it's not because she's honourable or a genius.
She also stated, "Canada's deployment of 2,300 soldiers to Afghanistan simply 'frees up more soldiers to be in Iraq'".
Your welcome. I'm glad our troops are being useful over there.
After reading this story, I've been held up in the shower. I feel so dirty knowing that Sheehan was in my country, and worse yet, she was within an hours drive time of where I live.
Clean. Clean. Must get clean.
The air is so toxic and rank with anti-patriotism (ok, I may be overexaggerating a bit, but you get the point).
And, Sheehan says she was here to support other anti-war nuts who want us to open the border to US lowlifes, I mean traitors to their country, I mean military deserters.
No thanks; we don't want your trash here.
Her reasoning for why Canadians should allow US military deserters into the country is because
"the soldiers are within their rights to desert because many are 'lied to' by U.S. military recruiters who tell them they won't have to fight in Iraq. 'My son was an honourable, honest person lied to by his recruiter'".Okay, lady (if that is what you really are), perhaps you've conveniently forgotten that your son chose to be re-enlisted.
Ya, he CHOSE that.
A person doesn't CHOOSE to re-enlist if they were tricked into joining in the first place.
Not only that, but nobody with any sense of mind joins the military thinking they are completely exempt from ever taking place in any military-type activities.
And, if they join merely looking for a free ride from the government, then I really don't sympathise with them at all. Being a soldier is an honourable decision to protect one's country, and to use that position merely for a paycheck or free education is pitiful.
I can't believe people ignorantly support this "lady" who spews lies. They should be ashamed.

Amazing how all these left-wing Americans can come to Canada to enlighten us and it's all in the name of truth and justice, but if Stephen Harper glances at the Washington Post we're all on the road to Americanization.
Funny that!

Wait, I thought there was an agreement among all intelligent, non-leftist bloggers, never to mention this person again. Please, let's not give this moonbat any credibility by writing about her. If we don't look, she really will just go away.

It's gone too far for her to just "go away". If we stop pointing out what an idiotic traitor she is that leaves others to tout her as the voice of reason. Can't have that now, can we?

Ms. Sheehan and Canadian activists from the Council of Canadians and the War Resisters Support Campaign also called on Prime Minister Stephen Harper to "open the border" to U.S. military deserters.
"I believe our war resisters are legitimate refugees," Ms. Sheehan said.
Cindy is aiding and abetting criminals. Throw her in jail and toss the key.

I am extremely disappointed in you current post. People who conclude people like Cindy to be un-patriotic do not deserve to live in a democracy. If your idea of patriotism is to insult and defame people who speak bad of your leaders you should move either leave the democracy or support a change to a dictorship. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them un-patriotic, that is the wonders of a democratic system. Dissent is necessairy to keep madmen out of the system. I welcome Ms. Sheehan to Canada with open arms. My friends are in afganistan for no reason, risking their lives. They joined a military to defend their country, not bully others.

LethargicNinja - you do realize what Cindy Sheehan does is give hope to the terrorists. This empowers them to continue the fight because they see weakness in those fighting them. If they hold on long enough they will eventually win the war because the other side will lose their guts to fight. In effect, Cindy and her group are lengthening the war and causing more casualties by giving a reason for the other side to continue the fight in hopes the west will withdraw.
In a war, a huge percentage of the battle is about will. You have to break the mental backs of the enemy. If everyone was solidly behind the fighting, agree or not, the war might already be over as the enemy would know that no amount of fighting would break the West's spirit. Why do you think the enemy uses the media so often as they are trying to break our will. Peace activists are what are keeping the war alive.
You may disagree about a war before it starts, but when your country is at war and lives are on the line, you publicly fall in line and support the war effort or you risk your countryman’s lives by extending the war by giving hope to the enemy. That gives Sam (or anyone) every right to call Cindy and her kin un-patriotic.

Of course she went to Canada. No one is listening here anymore.

Well, I can't say Mr. Big's argument makes much sense. If you're calling for a withdrawal, that means you want it to end, which means, no more casualties. Which means the war isn't being continued. Also, Mr. Big surely knows about the First Amendment, which gives war critics the right to speak--liberal and conservative. Yes, I know it's easier to suggest they're all of the same ideological stripe and they're all a bunch of Cindy Sheehans, but this isn't the case.
Since you guys feel so strongly about the war, surely a lot of you will be going to enlist.

FYI - I did enlist when I was of age and served my country. The point of going to war is to win, not to lose. Once you are in a war you best not lose or face serious future consequences. Withdraw is defeat and unacceptable. Why go to war in the first place only to tuck tail and go home.
Running away may stop immediate casualties but will empower future enemies to hold out when we really do need to win at all costs as they will use this war as an example of how America cannot stomach any casualties. Look at Black Hawk down as an example. This is what empowered current enemies to believe Americans do not have the stomach to fight back. Pulling out now would prove that Americans are weak given the casualty for this war is extremely low relative to other wars.
Further, running away gives time for existing enemy to rebuild and gain strength and attack again. All those whom are enemies aren't just going to disappear, they will attack western interests again and again and cause even more casualties.
Iran has already seen the weakness in American and is bold enough to be refining nuclear material and be openly defiant since they believe Americans will not have the stomach to fight another war. Who is to blame for that? The peace activists!
Withdraw will only postpone the casualties that are going to happen not stop them.

Sheehan is a sick woman and a disgrace to the memory of her son Casey. God forgive this moonbat. She needs mental help, seriously. No normal person (well guess knowone is ever REALLY normal - LOL), but you get my meaning would ever do the sick things this woman has done in the name of her son and being an anti-war activist. She is a shame to herself and all Americans.

On behalf of the citizens of the United States of America, I would like to extend our deepest and most sincere appologies that our good cousins to the North have been subjected to the Cindy Shenanigans. She obviously got loose somehow.
We value you as neighbors and certainly would not want this unfortunate incident to damage our relationship in any way. We will do all within our power to get her under control as quickly as possible.
[I figure if Ms. Shenanigans thinks she speaks for all Gold Star Families, I can speak for all Americans - so there :) ]
BTW - did you know that Cindy gave up custody of her son, Casey (many people don't know HIS name) when he was 7 years old.
She has also given up custody of her other children.
I would have sympathy for her if she were truly doing this for her son's sake. But she has dishonored her son (who DID re-inlist - if he hadn't figured out by then that he had to go to Iraq there was something wrong with him)and this is about her, not him.
She does NOT speak for other Gold Star Families:

[note in the comments a comment from a Gold Star parent who is outraged at her claims to speak for all parents of fallen Soldiers]
She's just a not-so-bright pawn who apparently is more than willing to play the game her financiers want her to play.
If anyone is interested in her son, here's a little about him: (she apparently didn't really know who he was.)

Bravo MrBig - you are absolutely right. If the liberals would shut up and let us untie our soldiers hands, this war would be over and no one would mess with us. As it is, with them running their mouths for the world to hear, they think we are weak and many many more will die because of it.
Mr. Non-Conservative Cat - you haven't got a clue. We DO put our SELVES where our mouths are. Thank GOD there are ppl like us who understand the need for STRENGTH so that we can continue to exist in a free society and YOU can keep running your sarcastic little mouth to your hearts content.
The very fact you are able to post on blogs and Shenanigans is able to run around the world committing sedition and treason without serious consequence is precisely because WE DO understand what's at stake.
I am equally free to disrespect her to my hearts content because regardless of what she claims - she does not speak for ME. She put herself out there - that's the consequence of that. At least she keeps her head attached to her body.
Go sing and dance and act, or whatever you do and leave the matters of the world to the grown ups. We'll take care of things, you don't have to worry your little head about it.

Mr. Non-Conservative Pig, I mean Cow, I'm sorry, I mean Pussy er ... Cat ... er that's right Cat.
No one expects to see you or your type at the recruiting office. The least you can do to help out is to just butt out of it and let the MEN do the necessary work.
Your views are nothing but a cover for cowardice. The quickest way to get out of a war is to lose it.
You don't want to fight, you don't want the inconvenience and expense of war, so throw up your hands and walk away.
The problem with that is that the problem follows you. You show weakness, the enemy is emboldened. The perfect example of that is the Clinton administration and the increasingly bold attacks on American interests while he made weak or no responses to the attacks.

Out of curiosity I actually went to see her speak in Kailua-Kona a couple of weeks ago. Cost me 7 bucks and being acousted by people asking me what I thought about the Navy sonar experiments. Shes not very suited for a figure head and relys on emotion to get her point across. Wish I had some P.E.R.V. cards printed to hand out. Might have made for a more entertaining night.

I understand Casey Sheehan's grave now has a tombstone on it. Put there by his father, the mother never bothered to get around to it. Must have spent the insurance money on something else.
http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_casey_sheehan_grave.htm
Now she claims
"For the first year after Casey was killed, I didn't want to believe it," she writes. "I didn't want to place a TOMBstone on my son's grave. I didn't want one more marble proof that my son was dead. I couldn't even call where he was buried a 'cemetery,' I had to call it 'Casey's Park.' I placed fresh flowers in the cup every week and journaled there almost on a daily basis, and often laid on it and fell asleep and dreamed of my needlessly killed son."
Right that is why there were so many elaborate photo ops there.
