Springfield's plan bears a striking resemblance to Matt Groening's hometown of Portland, Oregon.
I believe I've located my apartment, somewhere near either Greasers Cafe or Fort Fragg.

Trivia: In the first season, a close-up of an envelope shows their return address as "Springfield, IL".
Later seasons avoided mention of any specific state and it eventually became one of the show's running jokes.
