Yeah, I think you missed the point.
The reason some people don't like Napoleon Dynamite, including Roger Ebert, is that there's no plot, no character development, and just a string of silly situations. But it's this downright silliness that makes it so attractive. Stop looking so deep for meaning that isn't there, and just enjoy its unique brand of crazy.

Deron - ya, it's definitely not deep, lol. But, I certainly didn't find it to be silly or crazy either.
Just seemed to be a whole lotta random nothingness. But, that's just my perception.
