This is an article MR.BIG, my techie, wrote a long time ago, but deserves another look as an informative measure. I'm revisiting it because I've been getting an awful lot of those fake paypal scams telling me they have received "unusual activity" on my account, and I'm sure some of you have gotten this bull-story, too.

Every other day or so, I receive an e-mail from someone claiming to be PayPal or another bank of some variety.

Of course, each e-mail wants me to immediately click on the link and enter my username and password to promptly verify that information is correct due to lost records on their part, or to validate a recently large sum of cash deposited into my account, or other such ridiculous reasons.

Now the scam pages are usually easy to spot.

For all you smokers and non-smokers out there, wanting to, trying to, or supporting someone who's trying to quit smoking, a support network is being offered to you through some of our fellow bloggers.

I'm Just a Girl and Dianes Stuff has a plan for the week of Jan. 1-7th where everyone involved will post about what methods are being used to quit and provide moral support to one another!

Every day of that week members will post about their efforts and how it’s going for each of them. They decided upon Jan. 1-7th as it is a good time to start on New Year’s Resolutions, plus the time frame gives everyone an entire month to decide on a strategy to quit.

"If you need to visit a doctor, GO. If you need to stock up on hard candy, DO IT. If you need to go buy some patches, BUY THEM. Just have your game plan ready before the 1st of January!"

I think this is also a good opportunity for non-smokers out there, or those who have already quit, to express our support. Non-smokers can post any knowledge they have in efforts to quit smoking, share stories of people they know who smoke or have tried to smoke, perhap share some light-hearted humour on the subject of quitting, etc.

Remember, it is not easy for many to quit, some may have been smoking for 50 years or so. Now just imagine quitting something that you've been doing for that long. It's not easy, so they could use all the friendly encouragement they can get.

I mean, just imagine quitting your routine of waking up day after day and heading to the john for your morning cr*p. Trying to stop something that seems to come so natural to you is not easy, so a bit of loyal comforting and aid will go a long way.
